Most chairs made now are designed to be adjustable to fit more of the population. However these chairs are only beneficial to us in preventing injuries and increasing comfort if we have the knowledge to fit the chair to ourselves.

A few tips to make the most of our adjustable chairs:

1. Adjust the height of the chair so that our feet are flat on the floor. This takes the pressure off the back of our knees.

2. You may feel the need to take a rolled up towel and place it behind your lower back to create a lower back support. The position of the support will vary from person to person.

3. Do not feel obligated to use the arm rests if they are not comfortable. You want your shoulders to be relaxed and elbows near your side, not too far in front and not to far behind. If your arm rests do not support this posture, adjust the height if possible, or don’t use them at all.
